Artist statement

Freshman year of high school I was introduced to the love of my life, photography. A few cameras were around the house and just my luck one of them still worked. I bought some film and took my love to football games. I had to be on the sidelines taking stats for the players so why not also take pictures. Every week going to get them developed was an exciting time. I could not wait to see my masterpieces. Not every picture was a winner but as time went on I created my own style.

Fast forward to sophomore year at brooklyn tech and choosing a major. My mother wanted math and sciences but I could not leave my love behind in the media major. She called to me and I answered. I enjoyed every moment of my time spent on photography in class. I crafted my art and understood what I loved to shoot the most was nature.

As time went by nature was nice as a hobby but the real money involved human subjects. And so I lost my love a little when I had to involve the general public. Even though they paid they took away from my love. Shooting events was not fun it had become redundant. So I decided to try out film and editing. My new love flourished, people were no longer a burden.

In this class I hope to achieve greatness within my film productions. Perhaps I can be as amazing as Spielberg but for now the excitement of tomorrow brings with it a curiosity to explore my new love film in ways I have not done before.
