Visiting the Museum of Moving Image was a very rewarding experience. It was cool to physically see what goes into making a movie. I really enjoyed the Behind The Screen exhibition, the interactive set ups were fun and informative. My favorite part was the dubbing room. Didn't realize how simple it could be to change the sound of a film and that actors would redo lines without actually filming the scene over again. I also thought it was pretty cool to see some of the actual props and costumes used in major films. The set design aspect of the museum was something very new to me. It was amazing to see how detailed the models of the sets were. Also how scaled down architecture could be filmed to look as though they were huge buildings. The idea that set designers could accomplish so much without using CGI or the actual thing they were trying to replicate is mind blowing. Overall I found out that simply zooming in on something can have a completely different look and feel through the lens of a camera. I thoroughly enjoyed my trip to the museum of moving image.
